5th Coast Guard District Outreach Fulfillment Center

Outreach LogoThe Fifth Coast Guard District Outreach Fulfillment Center (D5 OFC) objective is to raise awareness for the importance of recreational boating safety and partner with citizens everywhere through America’s Waterway Watch to improve the boating experience of the maritime public. We also strive to highlight the Coast Guard Auxiliary, America's premier volunteer life savers and the many opportunities available through membership. Working in partnership with all stakeholders within the waterways activity spectrum we are committed to delivering professional, high quality displays and exhibits that increase visibility in a wide range of public venues, elementary school safety fairs, boater education classes, vessel safety check stations, boat shows, conferences, seminars, television spots, national safe boating week activities and many other related safety opportunities with our boating safety partners. We measure our success by delivering excellent outreach support for participants of outreach opportunities throughout our seven state mid-Atlantic area of responsibility.

Members of the U.S. Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Power Squadrons, Boating Law Administrators and their staffs within the seven state region (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia and North Carolina) comprising the Fifth Coast Guard District and other recreational boating stakeholders are eligible to request and use D5 OFC displays.  IMPORTANT - all OFC services are conducted through the web site portal only. Requests for OFC services are not available via FAX or telephone. Customers may monitor shipments using the tracking number provided by the selected courier service; the tracking number will be delivered to the requesting email address. Additionally, each order is issued an OFC request number that links it to the user’s online request and internal inventory controls.

  • WANTED: New home for 5th District Public Affairs Outreach Center. The Auxiliary is in need of finding a minimum 400 sq. ft. heated space to store materials such as the display booths and costumes currently being stored in Portsmouth, VA. Ideally we are seeking space at a Federal facility that would allow easy access for our Auxiliarists to process and service requests for displays. Easy access for FedEx pick-ups and deliveries is absolutely necessary. We would ideally prefer the space to be more centrally located within the entire 5th Coast Guard District, but the best space anywhere that can be available for the foreseeable future would be fantastic. Please contact "KC" Murphy, DSO-PA for details and to share any "leads" as to where such a space might be found.

LOST: If you know of the location of any retractable ("pull-up") banner stand displays that have the now outdated "You're in Command" message, PLEASE contact the DSO-PA, "KC" Murphy immediately! We have new graphics waiting to update these displays. Our goal is to locate at least 8 more displays! Please check with any and all members who might have these displays tucked in their attic, garage, trunk--wherever. We will send no-cost FedEx call tags to you to retrieve these displays. Help us help you get the word out about our programs! The new graphics are quite exceptional.
